As your relationships with organizations that help job seekers expand, you will be able to find out what the needs of the users and the organizations are. Teaching a regular class outside of the library is an excellent way to start introducing job seekers who otherwise may not utilize the library databases and resources that can assist them in their job search. While you may be able to teach them basic job search strategies, also consider providing instruction on the resources that are unique to library databases. Some of these topics include:

▪ Resources for editing resumes and cover letters

▪ Resources for improving computer and social media abilities

▪ Creating customized prospective business lists

▪ Researching industry reports

▪ Creating SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analyses of companies

▪ Learning about industry trends in the news and social media
